Read My Epic Fantasy Cerisa’s Quest!

In my continuation of update you all on my various releases, today I am sharing my epic fantasy novel Cerisa’s Quest. This is one of my favorite novels to write and one that I am pretty proud of.

Cerisa, trained as both mage and warrior, lives in exile with her family and best friend – a dragon named Lucian. Her peaceful life is ripped apart when her father is murdered by Lord Kyle, the man who has claimed the throne of Riverhand in the name of the missing queen through bloodshed and terror.

Cerisa’s plans for revenge, however, are stalled when her mother reveals two secrets that change the foundation of her life. One, her mother is the missing queen, and two, Lord Kyle is her blood father. Stunned and shaken, Cerisa vows revenge, even though her strong emotions wreak havoc on her already chaotic magic. She sets out with Lucian to kill Lord Kyle, despite – or because of – the revelations of her mother. After an attack that leaves her magically vulnerable, she meets Aron, her Drachecroi – a mate whose bonds strengthens the magical powers of their partners. When a simple broken wrist turns out to be infused with a dark curse, they realize that a powerful mage is helping Lord Kyle, defending him with a berserker to ensure the death of any who dare defy him. A berserker that has its sights set on Cerisa.

Lucian and Aron help her see that in order to save herself and the rest of Riverhand, she has to turn her back on her own need for revenge as well as convince her mother to do her duty and claim the throne. Preferably before being killed by a berserker. The journey to Dublinum is full of deadly creatures and bandits. Can Cerisa get her mother there in time to save Riverhand from endless civil war.

Darkest Valentine Available Now!

This has been a very busy year for me when it comes to my writing. I have had several releases that I have not had an opportunity to share with you, but that is changing. Each week I will be sharing some of my new or recent books. Let’s start with my dark and thrilling romance, Darkest Valentine!

US Amazon

The Dark Duke is bent on revenge for his father’s death. He was never convinced it was a suicide, despite the note he’d found. Something hit him as off. While working undercover to get his revenge, he stumbles across Lady Lillian—niece of the man responsible for it all.
He saves her from being shanghaied and finds himself enamored with her, despite who her family is. In a rash moment, he asks for a fake engagement as a way in to her family. However, he wants more than a false pretense. She is everything he has wanted and more. But will she stay with him when she learns his secrets?
Lady Lillian has no desire to marry. She’s seen quite enough of male domineering and shenanigans with, thank you. Then her brother arranges for her kidnapping, and the man saving her is none other than The Dark Duke. Though put off marriage, he convinces her to agree to a fake engagement as a way to help him in return for his heroics.
She is surprised at her feelings for him, but still wants more than a traditional life of a wife of a Duke. When she is confined to the house by her father, she is tempted to move out to her friend’s house. However, with financial security still years away, she can’t afford to do that, or her reputation would be torn to shreds. The Duke’s proposal gets her father off her back and buys her time to stay off the marriage mart.
She hadn’t counted on being kidnapped yet again despite measures taken for her safety. All fingers point to the Duke’s involvement, but she knows better. But will she leave alive in time to prove his innocence?

Excerpt:
While keeping an eye out for Robert, she noticed an attractive red-headed man dressed in black save for his blue cravat. His broad shoulders particularly caught her attention until she gazed upon his face. His blue eyes gleamed as he watched her intensely, the sadness there striking a chord in her even from where she stood. Something about him had her wanting a closer look. Though he stood with a group of men on the sidelines of the dance floor, he lifted his glass to her as they passed, and she blushed at being caught staring and quickly looked away. His gaze stirred a restless excitement in her, and the flushed warmth would not leave her.
“Who is that red-headed man,” she whispered to Sarah.
Sarah peered over her shoulder, and Lillian pulled her forward. “Don’t look, you ninny. He’ll catch you. There are but few red heads in the ton.”
“Too late, he did. And that is the Duke of Canterbury, but he is better known as The Dark Duke. How do you not know him? I am sure I have mentioned him.”
“Well, I don’t remember, so give.”
“He is said to have gone mad with grief after his father’s death. Servants disappearing, even the men of the ton refuse to cross him in business.” Sarah shook her head as if above it all. “Whispers and rumors is all. Though that has not stopped every eligible female—save us—from flinging themselves at him. He also has two sisters. One made her debut to the queen this past year and is being launched this season. That is probably why he is here.”
His father’s death explained the sadness she sensed earlier. Lillian tried a discreet peek back at him, only to find him still watching her. He again lifted his glass, and she sucked in an embarrassed breath and hid behind indignation and fanned herself. How cheeky of him!
She was about to ask her friend about the man’s rather alarming nickname when Sarah grabbed her hand. “There’s Eufemia. Get ready.”

I’m Back!

I know, I know, it has been a long time since I have posted or blogged here on this site but that is going to change. I am in the process of revamping this website and that means posting regular blogs at least once a month. Not only will I be talking about my new releases, and there are a lot of books on the way, but I will also update you on my creative process, art, and more. So hello again. I will be posting again soon!

What a Year and It’s Just Begun

Hello hello!

It’s been quite the year. I’ve been painting and writing up a storm. I have two books up for preorder, Pirating Christmas and Magic and Weres. A conglomoration of new and newly edited of previously published works. Pirating Christmas is sci-fi romance, and Magic and Weres is Paranormal romance. I still need to work on better blurbs. :S My nemesis as always. Today, I have Sheri Velarde visiting on my blog over here.

She’s been really helping me a lot on blogs and appreciate her time and efforts. She also happens to be a great writer, so if you love romance, check her out!

I have plans. Big plans. I aim to put out five books this year. I already have two on pre-order. I have loads to do, but I will get it done. I actually aim to put out a MINIMUM of five books this year because some of them are reboots, which still takes time and money for reedits and new covers. However, not as much time and money as new ones for self publishing. Also, want to get an agent for non romance books. I love science fiction and fantasy and plan to expand my writing in that area.

I’m also painting a lot more. I started at the end of last year and I’m continuing it through. Once I’ve signed them, I will post more pictures. I feel reborn. I wrote 60K for nano, all while making homemade meals, quilting three quilt tops, painting/sketching, taking care of kids, teaching sewing class, edited around 300k words as an editor, and cleaning. I can do this. I will do this.

I thank all those whom have hung on with me through the ages and can’t wait for the next bit to happen! Come along with me for the ride, and let’s make this a fabulous year together!

You can pre-order Pirating Christmas, which includes a peak into the sequel tentatively called, Pirates of the Empire. Looking forward to a fantastic new year with all of my readers and fans!

Welcome Author Sheri Velarde!

not so silent night sale

The world of publishing is forever changing and it up to authors to try to keep up. This year has been a great year and a difficult one for me on the publishing front. On the bright side I had my first fantasy novel come out, had a book signing for it, entered new some genres and published several shorts with various publishers. On the downside I saw two of my smaller publishing houses close their doors for good. That saddened me more than I can tell you. That is also what led me to the decision to start self-publishing some of my work. I am still with some small presses and may have something with a large house next year (fingers crossed), but I also want to have some control over my publishing as well. My fiancé and I are forming our own publishing house called Stoker Publishing and Not So Silent Night is our first step towards that dream.
Not So Silent Night is a re-release with expanded scenes and has been completely re-edited. I am pretty proud of this story and think it is the perfect book to launch my self-publishing career on. It’s steamy, sweet and hopeful all at the same time. I am hoping that it is the first of many of my stories that I will be putting out there myself as I move into the new age of publishing, well at least new for me. Scared and excited at the same time. I hope you enjoy a taste of Not So Silent Night. Grab it now while it is on sale for only .99 cents! Always FREE on Kindle Unlimited!

Anna is a lonely woman, running her dead grandmother’s flower shop. She hates Christmas and could not feel more lost when a handsome and mysterious Russian, Alexander, walks into her shop and her life. Each has secrets that they are harboring. Just as their passion erupts, the good old boys in town threaten to ruin everything. Getting to know each other is tough for most couples, adding in magic does not make it any easier. Now with a pack of werewolves out to destroy them, things become intense. They find themselves in a fight for their lives. Can their newfound love give them the strength to win against this threat and trust in the future?

Excerpt:
She had almost finished cleaning up in back when she heard the bell on the door ring less than five minutes before closing. “Seriously? Can’t people let me get out of here on time just one damn night?” she muttered to herself as she stormed toward the front so she could wait on her customer and then get the hell out of the store.

Anna whipped around the corner in a huff, not caring if she scared the latecomer away. She stopped in her tracks and almost forgot what had pissed her off when she saw the customer in question. The most breathtaking back view of a man she had ever seen stood just inside the doorway, and her brain stopped working for the moment. Wow, who knew broad shoulders and a great rear could stop a woman in her tracks? While she gawked like an idiot, the man turned around and proved to be even more distracting from the front. This guy was like a wall of muscle, perfect body attached to a very masculine and handsome face with the deepest blue eyes Anna had ever seen.

“Sorry, I know you are about to close, but I need a gift of flowers,” he said when he saw Anna. He had a very thick eastern European accent that she thought might be Russian, which of course only made him hotter. She noticed his eyes taking her in, and she couldn’t help but stand a little straighter, showing her curves off to her advantage while she absentmindedly ran her fingers through her long, wavy, raven hair, which most men seemed to love.

It took Anna’s brain a few moments to catch up before she could speak. Her previous anger and frustration vanished, replaced by eagerness to help this particular customer. “No problem at all. Do you have an idea of what kind of gift you are looking for? Is this for your girlfriend or wife?” Anna held her breath as she waited for this mystery man to answer, a bit annoyed with herself that she cared so much about what he might say.

Cover Reveal for Not So Silent Night by Sheri Velarde

Fellow author and friend Sheri Velarde is here today with the gorgeous cover reveal for her Not So Silent Night! Take it away Sheri.

Not So Silent Night is a very special story to me for numerous reasons. It was one of my most successful releases with Breathless Press and one of my favorite to write. Now it is about to become my first self-published book as I ready it for re-release this holiday season under my real name! It has been re-edited with some new bits added to make the story even better, but still retains the steaminess from before! The world of self-publishing is a little scary for me, but exciting at the same time! As I have had two small publishers close on me this year, I just feel that this gives me a safety net to my career and allows me more freedom as well. The world of publishing is forever changing and I am learning to go with the flow in order to keep up! I can’t think of a better way to embark on my new adventure than with Not So Silent Night, which will be out November 25th, and with the beautiful cover from artist Victoria Miller!
